PHILOSOPHY
I consider myself a co-creator. I work with clients to create the healthiest body possible. I don’t associate 6-pack abs as a gage of success. True health has many factors. Lean muscle mass, bone density, body fat, heart health and cardiovascular capacity to name a few. Not to mention how good health is attained and maintained.
"While I do strive for everyone to be in an ideal weight range, every body is different. Individually we can only be the best that we can be. Comparisons to others are not often positive. Setting and attaining realistic goals are. I don’t believe in making empty promises. I make short-term goals that are attainable for a steady path to ones best possible physical ideal. "
I know people want to look good and physical appearance is very important but what’s happening on the inside is even more so. When I think of the commonality of high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol and arthritis ONLY being treated with prescription medication makes me sad. We are living in a time when serious health issues are only medicated and life-style changes are not implemented. Personally I would rather try diet and exercise first before committing to a drug regimen. I respect the AMA but America is being overmedicated. I advise all clients to carefully consider other options with their doctors before or in conjunction with prescription medication.
As the baby-boomers are now all over 50 years old I’m starting to see the need for more balancing as well as strengthening exercises. More commonly known as functional exercise So many people have back pain and are constantly taking anti-inflammatories as the only source of relief. I would like people know they could strengthen their backs with exercise or improve their balance. That a lot of muscular imbalances can be treated with exercise routines tailored to improve all different conditions. I encourage everyone to try to improve the strength of their back and abdominals, to incorporate flexibility into workouts and to challenge their balance with stabilization techniques.
Training to have a body that looks good, works well and is healthy is my ultimate goal.
